Kansas City Bathroom Remodeling: Leawood
For the new homeowners, the master bathroom contained many issues that interrupted the flow, efficiency and general appeal of the space. Two walls of full height mirrors, an oversized whirlpool, a very small shower and the carpeted bathroom were at the top of their desired changes. Their list of improvements included better space utilization, more storage, better lighting, an enlarged shower, a new door between the bathroom and bedroom and general material updates.
The simple removal of the mirrors and oversized whirlpool tub opened up the room visually and instantly provided an improved sense of space. An unused cedar closet behind the existing shower was removed and the space was allocated to more than double the depth of the new shower that could now incorporate a bench. The new vanity was designed to provide plenty of storage for each person and become the focal point of the wall with a beautiful marble and glass tile panel accent.
The selective color scheme of cool greens with accents of lime green, satin nickel metal finishes and honey-stained maple cabinets was used to achieve a relaxing spa ambiance for the homeowners.
