Modern Meets Cottage
Two design styles blended together to create this new kitchen space that evokes modern style as well as paying homage to the home’s original 1960’s ranch style. Modern aspects of the kitchen are dark stained cabinets, smokey topaz quartz countertops, full height tile backsplash in a brick pattern and stainless steel appliances. Hand-scraped maple flooring, revitalized tongue and groove wood paneling and built-in furniture styled kitchen storage complement the modern aspect. A small bumpout enlarged the space, providing the homeowners with a large kitchen window to enjoy their backyard view and allowed for new laundry facilities on the main level.
