Prairie Village Kitchen Remodel
Through extensive structural work, a former room addition was removed to create this new living space that encourages interaction with guests throughout the free flowing layout. The design incorporated the required structural components cleaverly hidden within the new kitchen space.
A galley style kitchen was carefully designed and placed around an existing skylight to give the homeowners a functional space to live in. The kitchen features custom cabinetry in a painted white finish, granite countertops, porcelain tile backsplash with a glass mosaic tile accent, stainless steel appliances and new lighting throughout the entire space.
With a view directly into the kitchen from the front door of the home, sight lines played an important role in the design of the island. Cabinetry was placed around the outside corner of the raised bar to block the view of the worksurface around the kitchen. The added cabinetry provided storage for immediate access to the main kitchen area.
A wine bar across from the kitchen provides more space for storage in the cabinetry and a countertop for entertaining purposes.
